13-14.09.07- The end of training

13.09.07: More training; how to teach children and teens. Turns out to be apropos as today (14.09.07) I received my initial teaching schedule and will have both children and teens along with two adult classes. There will most likely be more added as that is only about half of how many hours they can have me teach. After two hours of training we stopped so as to plan our lessons. They had changed our groups and what we were teaching as well as divided the lessons up for us which I thought was a great idea. So I ended up teaching the Intermediate group which has been the best class to teach. All the teacher trainers helped us plan our lessons so I thought I had everything covered but it turned out that I hadn’t read one of the trainers notes correctly so I didn’t follow the directions how she wanted... it went well other than that (and a few other minor things). After class I observed an Elementary level class to see how it’s really done so that was helpful. We were to have a test the next day so I tried to study a little when I got home but I couldn’t motivate myself so well.

14.09.07: I got up early again to work on a lesson plan so I searched the internet for some materials but didn’t really find much so I went again to the resource center. There was another intern there studying when I arrived so I figured I should do a little of the same (especially as we had time later to lesson plan). So we had a general grammar and phonetics test on which I did better than I thought. After the test we were free to do our lesson plans and thankfully another teacher trainer helped me with mine. I received my schedule in the afternoon and found that I will be teaching at 2 different locations on the North side of Moscow. For now I will be teaching Mon., Tues., Wed. and Thurs. so hopefully when they add classes it will be on those days as well. So my lesson today went the best of any so far. I taught the same class as the day before so was already pretty comfortable with them and could refer to the previous lesson. After class some of the teachers and the interns went to the restaurant/bar next door so I joined them for a while. About half of the interns are going to St. Petersburg so they wanted to have some sort of send off. After about an hour I headed to the MP meeting but when I got out of the metro I ran into a few people and found out that it already ended; but I talked to them for a while and ended up going to a nearby cafe with another Marusist. On my way home, as before, I was confunded when I transferred because the other line is just across the platform and not up or down some steps and/or elevators like at other stations...
